Involve all affected departments in all
phases of the process - starting with the selection process. Involvement
not only increases buy in, it also starts the building of relationships
and discussions that will be come critical during the implementation
process, and beyond.
People tend to become very "departmentalized" in institutions.
For example, how much does nursing know about finance needs? Or
visa versa? Yet in a CIS environment, these needs frequently intersect
with both sides needing to understand how and why the other functions
as it does. Starting that communication early can help ward off
problems later. |
