Some lessons learned? We bought up a financial system and a clinical system at the same time. This solved some problems, but created more than a few as well. If it isn't absolutely necessary, it would be best to bring up one at a time. We also found some areas to be so diverse, that it would have been better to have more than one SUer from that area. Finally, more physician involvement during the planning phase and time for everyone to increase their comfort level with the computer could have helped us avoid some pitfalls. |
