An implementation is never really done and here are some of the issues our institution wrestled with.

It's difficult to create something on line that has the look and feel of flow sheets. Since we were a single vendor implementation, we had to deal with departments who saw a slick stand alone, designed for their specialty area, and wondered why they couldn't have it. Our institution had also decided we would not print what was on line. This requires breaking some old habits and constant re-education about what is "the chart" and the benefits of real time data.

IS exists to serve it's customers. Its customers are not only the employees and associates of the institution, they are the patients who come to that institution. To be truly successful, we must constantly remember this, find out what everyone's expectations are and then strive to exceed them.
